How to use
Melee · Left-click
Hold the fan and left-click to attack a target in front of you. A hit knocks the target back and consumes 1 durability.
Returning Wind · Release right-click after charging
Hold right-click for at least 0.25 seconds, then release to throw the fan along your line of sight. A full charge takes 1.5 seconds. A longer charge increases speed, range, and damage, with a flight range of 6–16 blocks.
The fan returns after hitting a block or reaching maximum range. The same target can be hit once outbound and once on return. Return damage is 85% of outbound damage.
Piercing Plume · Left-click at full charge
Hold right-click for 1.5 seconds, then left-click while still holding right-click. The fan pierces forward up to 20 blocks.
If the hit mob survives, the fan lodges in it and reduces its movement speed by 25%. For the first 2.5 seconds while lodged, it deals additional damage every 0.5 seconds. It pulls free and returns after no more than 5 seconds.
On hitting a block, it stays lodged for about 3.5 seconds before returning. Breaking the block frees it early. If it hits nothing, it turns back at maximum range.
Durability and enchantments
A fan has 250 durability. Each melee hit or launch consumes 1 point. A thrown fan temporarily leaves your hand. On return, it goes to its original hand first, then your inventory, or drops at your feet if the inventory is full. There is a 0.6-second cooldown after it returns.
None of these three attacks harms mobs marked as birds by the mod.
Burial Plume, Riven Plume, Hunting Return each change how Piercing Plume or Returning Wind attacks work. A fan can have only one exclusive enchantment. All three ordinary attacks work without an enchanted book.
