Sky flocks
Distant flocks
Geese, eagles, seagulls, swallows, cranes, vultures and starling flocks appear in the distant sky according to biome, time and weather. They are client-side ambient effects, not entities you can feed, catch or tame.
| Environment | Common sights |
|---|---|
| Coasts, oceans and rivers | Seagulls and geese; cranes in wetlands too |
| Plains, meadows and forest edges | Swallows, starlings and some migrating flocks |
| Mountains, taiga and plateaus | Soaring eagles |
| Deserts, badlands and savannas | Vultures gliding on thermals |
| Swamps and mangroves | Cranes and geese |
Time and weather
Migrating birds are more common at dawn and dusk. Midday favors soaring eagles and vultures, while dusk increases the chance of starling flocks. Flocks do not spawn naturally during thunderstorms; rain affects each species differently.
The Sky Bird Ecology toggle only controls distant flocks. It does not affect bird entities.
